BREWERIES

Better when you get it from the source

Omaha, NE

Kros Strain Brewing  was formed by a couple homebrewers that grew to love the hobby enough to ditch their previous college degrees and switch their career paths to the brewing industry.  In their previous careers, Bobby Kros worked as an engineer and Scott Strain came from a legislative background.

Brewing has been in their blood since at least 2006. They spent many years as homebrewers perfecting the craft, brewing for friends and family, entering competitions and even winning a few!

La Vista, NE

A dream and a couple too many beers set the groundwork for Lucky Bucket Brewing Company.  Our passion for great beer grew with each barrel we brewed.  Sometimes we’d nail it and sometimes it was laughable.  But along the way, we brewed a lager that we just couldn’t stop drinking.  With a grin on our face and a mug in hand, we knew this was to be our first release: Lucky Bucket Pre-Prohibition Lager, our handcrafted, session beer.  From there the rest is history.  Hoppy libations, barrel aged ales, bold stouts, tart sour beers – you name it, we brew it!  Come and hang out with us at the brewery.  We are always here brewing up a new delicious creation.  Cheers!

La Vista and Papillion, NE

When it comes to our beer, we learned over time that simply barrel aging and kegging beer did 2 things.  First, it created broad demand for beers from the really cool, but really small brewery located in Nebraska.  The second thing that it did for us was to create so much demand that we found ourselves brewing to fill orders instead of brewing to continue the fun we first found when we opened the brewpub.
Enter the production brewery.  Located just outside of the Omaha Metro, but still a large part of the Omaha Craft Beer scene.  An expansion of pure capacity to meet pent-up demand allowed us to fill those larger orders that kept getting shorted and allow the brewpub to get back to its innovative roots.

Lincoln, NE

Everything we are today started with one simple goal in 1990: to provide Lincoln with the best food and beer in Nebraska. The original Lazlo’s Brewery & Grill in Lincoln’s Historic Haymarket started with delicious, uncompromising food and quickly evolved into its own brewery dedicated to meticulously crafting unforgettable microbrews that beer enthusiasts and novices alike enjoyed savoring—that company is Empyrean Brewing Co.

Ancient civilizations believed paradise existed at the highest point in the universe, within a fiery sphere they called “The Empyrean.” Inspired by this sentiment, we set out to infuse every batch of our handcrafted ales with our own unique notion of paradise—take a journey with us, one sip at a time. Together, we pursue the brew.

About 12 million years ago, a volcano in southwest Idaho spread a blanket of ash over a very large area. The smaller animals died first (smaller lung capacities) and finally, after perhaps three to five weeks, the last of the rhinos perished.Their bodies were quickly covered by the blowing and drifting ash. Undisturbed except by an occasional scavenging meat-eater, the skeletons of these animals are preserved in their death positions, complete with evidence of their last meals in their mouths and stomachs and their last steps preserved in the sandstone below.

Nebraska's newest state park straddles the Niobrara National Scenic River, 18 miles east of Valentine. The park protects the biological and scenic significance of the location, while allowing the public to view the state's highest waterfall. The area primarily serves day-use visitors, canoers on the Niobrara River and canoe campers.

The south side of the river, where the falls are located, is maintained in a natural state. Hiking is limited to established trails to prevent erosion and protect rare plants. Although there is no vehicle access or camping there, a footbridge across the Niobrara links the falls to the north side of the park.

During the 1890s, scientists rediscovered what the Lakota Sioux already knew—bones preserved in one of the world's most significant Miocene Epoch mammal sites.

Yet, this place called "Agate" is a landscape that reflects many influences—from early animals roaming the valleys and hills, to tribal nations calling the High Plains home, to explorers passing through or settling in the American West.

Seward. NE

Junto is a winery located between Seward and Lincoln, Nebraska. Our mission is to offer great wine. The rolling Garland Hills provide an opportunity to craft unique wines and offer stunning views. In addition to our wines we also serve meat & cheese trays, and pretzels & dip.

Nenzel, NE

Niobrara Valley Vineyards is located in the northern Sandhills near Nenzel, NE. The semi-arid climate provides an excellent environment for high quality grapes and excellent Nebraska wines. The low humidity, hot summers, cool nights, harsh winds and very cold winters contribute to hardy vines that require fewer herbicides, insecticides and fungicides. Our grapes make wines with more body and an explosion of flavors that is amplified by the harsh environment our grapes have to live in, making them hardy just like the people who live in the Sandhills. Currently we have 2350 vines and ten varieties of grapes that make up the unique blends of flavors that are in the Niobrara Valley Vineyards wines.
We are a small winery. Our focus is on producing wines of the highest quality, not quantity. We have been told that we have some of the best wines in Nebraska and our customers keep coming back. We hope you will come and visit us at the winery and ranch.

Palmyra, NE and Tasting Room in Ashland, NE

When we planted the first acre of grapes, we were looking for a hobby that would provide fruit for amateur winemaking. Mike Murman, the owner of Glacial Till Vineyard & Winery, has always had an interest in winemaking and has been making small batches of wine in his basement for the last thirty years. With an interest to improve the quality of wine he could make, he turned to growing his own fruit. In subsequent years, Mike’s belief in quality grapes, coupled with his skill in winemaking, has resulted in several silver, gold and best-of-show amateur winemaking awards. The evolution of the vineyard and winery has been a direct reflection of the hard work of Mike’s three sons; John, Tim and Craig have put in over the years prepping the soil, planting, pruning, trellising, mowing, caring for the vines and helping with the winemaking process.

Brownville, NE

Whiskey Run Creek Vineyard & Winery opened in Fall of 2002 under the guidance and direction of Robert (Bob) Curttright.  When Bob was searching for the ideal location to open a winery, he learned of a parcel of land on the western edge of Brownville that was once home to one of the first breweries in the state of Nebraska and determined this was the ideal location for the winery.  The south cave built in 1866 for storing beer barrels was restored.  It was determined by geological survey that another of the original brewery caves from the 1800's still exists, but we haven't explored it yet.  The barn that spans the Whiskey Run Creek also adds more rustic charm to the winery considering it is over 100 years-old. The barn was not originally located in its current location, but rather it was relocated from a farmstead south of Auburn (NE) to its current location over the creek
