Freedom of Speech (with Consequences)

We should all know by now that nothing is private on social media. Anything and everything you post will eventually somehow and some way make it back to the subject of your post. Another poster stated that they have freedom of speech. So I decided to delve into this concept.

The first amendment states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

I see nothing about being able to say whatever you want with no consequences. I see nothing about specific personal freedoms to be frank. It only states that Congress cannot make laws restricting these freedoms.

So I went a step further and researched a document that actual pertained to individual rights, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which was proclaimed in 1948 by the United Nations in Paris. Article 19 states "Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers."

This seems more in line with those who state that the have the freedom of speech, at least in their context. You do have the right to speech, opinions, expression, and even to impart those opinions, etc on ANY media. Ok. Fair enough.

I still do not see the part where there are no repercussions or consequences for those actions. This is one of the main reasons that I do not permit agency, recruiter, or traveler bashing in my group. There are plenty of groups out there to voice your concerns. This group focuses on the fun things of travel healthcare, such as breweries, wineries, and natural attractions.

I know there are traveler only groups as well as recruiter only groups that have conversations along those lines, and that is fine for those groups, but I try my best for this group to remain positive providing everyone with a valuable resource. Every hospital, agency, recruiter, traveler, and other travel healthcare related company will be found to have positive and negative reviews. I use multiple agencies; some use one; some are looking to not use any. To each their own. Every one does travel healthcare their own way.
